The ’60 PE J Bass set recreates the late-1960s Jazz Bass tone with tighter response, increased output and a more aggressive vintage character.
The ’60 PE J Bass uses vintage-correct fibreboard flatwork and Alnico V magnets, with both coils hand-wound using 42 AWG plain enamel wire. Based on late-1960 Jazz Bass coils, the plain enamel wire produces a tighter, more focused response with slightly increased output.
The bottom end is extremely defined with a fast response to playing dynamics, while the mids are punchy and solid. Clear, vowel-like highs complete the articulate and expressive vintage voice.
The neck coil is RWRP, allowing both pickups to be blended together for full hum-cancelling operation while retaining the characteristic wide tonal range of a Jazz Bass.
Vintage-correct black and white cloth push-back hookup wire completes the authentic late-1960s specification.
Classic Jazz Bass tones, Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul, R&B, Pop and Studio.
Ideal for Jazz Bass-style instruments and players looking for an authentic late-1960s J Bass character with tighter response, increased output and a more aggressive vintage voice.
