The Abraxas is designed for players who love the character and dynamics of a vintage humbucker but want more output, stronger midrange crunch and the ability to drive an amplifier into natural overdrive.
Using the same sand-cast Alnico IV magnet found in The Mule, the Abraxas retains a similar breadth, clarity and detail across the midrange while delivering considerably more power. Its scatter-wound 43 AWG plain enamel coils preserve the harmonic complexity and expressive character of a vintage-style humbucker while adding greater depth and authority.
The higher output gives the bridge pickup a fuller low end, stronger midrange drive and smoother control in the highs, making it particularly effective in brighter-sounding guitars. Despite its increased power, the Abraxas remains dynamic and responsive, cleaning up beautifully when the volume control is rolled back.
Its coil characteristics also make it an excellent choice for coil-split wiring, offering a versatile range of sounds beyond traditional full humbucker operation.
