The PG Blues humbucker set is designed to capture the distinctive tones of Peter Green's famous '59 Les Paul, including the legendary out-of-phase sound produced when both pickups are used together.
The set features Alnico II sand-cast magnets, scatter-wound 42 AWG plain enamel wire on the bridge and uniquely wound Heavy Formvar coils on the neck. This specific combination creates the characteristic out-of-phase middle position while retaining a powerful, expressive voice from each pickup individually.
Vintage-correct solid nickel-silver baseplates and covers, together with completely unpotted coils, contribute to the PG Blues' vocal, vowel-like character, sweet yet articulate highs and warm bass response.
