Developed in collaboration with Procol Harum and Crawler guitarist Geoff Whitehorn, the Crawler humbucker set was designed to cover the full spectrum of Geoff's classic and modern tones while delivering more power and versatility than a traditional vintage pickup.
The Crawler bridge combines substantial output with a rich, fat midrange and smooth high-end response. Its powerful voice provides excellent sustain and authority when pushing an amplifier, while retaining enough clarity and definition for articulate lead and rhythm work.
The neck pickup takes its inspiration from a vintage PAF, with an open, vocal-like character and carefully calibrated output to balance perfectly with the hotter bridge. Its full, warm bass response and sweet upper register make it highly expressive, while the dynamic response allows it to clean up beautifully from the guitar's volume control.
The Crawler is equally comfortable in Les Paul-style and Strat-style guitars. Its higher-output bridge makes it capable of contemporary rock tones, while the neck retains the openness and harmonic character expected from a vintage-inspired humbucker.
Coil splitting is particularly effective, producing bright, articulate single-coil tones while retaining a useful amount of output.
Blues, Classic Rock, Fusion, Progressive Rock and '80s Metal.
