Classic late-'59 PAF tone with exceptional balance, clarity and dynamic range.
The Mule is a vintage-voiced humbucker with the classic character of the finest late-'59 Patent Applied For pickups. It delivers an exceptionally balanced frequency response, outstanding clarity and enough power to handle almost any musical application.
Each pickup is built and voiced using coils wound with differing numbers of turns of vintage-correct 42 AWG plain enamel wire. This asymmetrical approach produces excellent clarity, extended dynamics and a highly expressive, vocal character.
Vintage-style construction includes butyrate bobbins, maple spacers, nickel-plated slugs, Fillister No. 5 pole screws and a solid nickel-silver baseplate. Sand-cast Alnico IV magnets provide a fast, responsive bass, fuller mids and a smooth, controlled high end.
Even at lower gain settings, The Mule delivers rich harmonic detail and unmistakable vintage character. As the amplifier is pushed, smooth harmonic feedback and complex overtones emerge naturally, while the pickup retains the clarity and dynamics needed for expressive playing.
Blues, Country, Jazz, Funk, Indie, Reggae, Britpop, Classic Rock, Heavy Rock and Metal.
Suitable for solid-body, semi-acoustic and hollow-body guitars, particularly single-cut and glued-neck instruments. An excellent choice for any guitar that would benefit from a more even frequency response, improved dynamics and an expressive vintage voice.
