You'll learn how to inspect your guitar, measure and adjust neck relief, check nut and saddle height, set string action, understand intonation and understand how each adjustment affects playability and tone.

BRING YOUR OWN ACOUSTIC GUITAR

This is a practical, hands-on workshop.

Rather than simply watching someone else set up a guitar, you'll work directly on your own acoustic guitar throughout the session.

You'll learn how to inspect, measure and adjust your instrument while being guided through each stage of the setup process.

The goal is to understand what your guitar needs, why it needs it and how to make the correct adjustment.

SMALL GROUP, PERSONAL GUIDANCE

With a maximum of 10 participants per session, the workshop is intentionally kept small.

This allows for individual guidance, hands-on instruction and plenty of opportunity to ask questions while working on your own guitar.

You'll also get to meet other guitarists, compare setups and share your experiences.

YOUR OWN SET OF TOOLS TO TAKE HOME

Every participant receives a dedicated guitar setup and maintenance tool kit to use throughout the workshop.

You'll learn how to use each tool correctly during the hands-on session, and the complete tool set is yours to take home after the workshop.

YOUR TOOL SET INCLUDES

  • Feeler Gauge Set × 1

Learn from experience, not just instructions.

With more than 21 years of experience in guitar repair and setup, Fret & Grain Boot Camp is designed to teach the practical skills, measurements and thought process behind a proper guitar setup.

The goal isn't simply to show you which screws to turn.

This is more than a 4.5-hour guitar setup class.

You'll learn how to inspect, measure, diagnose and set up your own acoustic guitar using a professional, methodical approach.

More importantly, you'll leave with the knowledge and tools to continue maintaining and fine-tuning your guitar long after the workshop ends.
