SUPPORT FRET & GRAIN
Fret & Grain is a small independent guitar workshop in Singapore, built from a genuine love for guitars and a desire to create a place where instruments are treated with care, precision and respect.
From the beginning, we’ve always wanted Fret & Grain to remain small, personal and focused on quality.
We don’t want to become a workshop that takes in a large volume of guitars just to keep up with demand. We believe that when there are too many instruments on the bench, it becomes harder to give each guitar the time, attention and care it deserves.
We would rather work on fewer guitars and do them properly than take on more work and compromise our standards.
At the same time, we believe in building a business that is sustainable not only for the workshop, but also for the people behind it.
We want to be able to do work that we are proud of, while also having a healthy work-life balance. We believe that when you’re constantly rushing, overworked and trying to do too much, it eventually affects the quality of the work and the passion behind it.
For us, success isn’t about how many guitars we can process.
It’s about how well we can look after every guitar that comes through our doors, while building a life that allows us to continue doing this for many years to come.
Like any small business, running a workshop comes with many ongoing expenses, from rent and utilities to materials, tools and everyday operating costs. With inflation and the rising cost of running a business, these expenses have continued to increase over time.
As we continue building Fret & Grain, we’re reaching out to our community to ask if you would like to be part of the journey and support what we’re building.
If you enjoy what we do, have entrusted us with your guitar, believe in our work, or simply want to support a small local business with a passion for guitars, any contribution would mean a great deal to us.
Every contribution will go towards supporting the workshop and helping us maintain the level of care, time and attention we put into every instrument that comes through our doors.

Fret & Grain is still a work in progress, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of it so far.
We hope to keep Fret & Grain small enough to care, focused enough to stay precise, and sustainable enough to keep doing what we love.
