The Halcyon is a high-output signature humbucker set developed through an intensive R&D collaboration between Spiritbox guitarist Mike Stringer, Adam “Nolly” Getgood and Tim Mills, designed specifically around the demands of modern 7-string guitars and ultra-low tunings.
Originally developed for Mike Stringer's guitars tuned as low as F#, the Halcyon set combines extreme output with tight low-end control, aggressive attack and exceptional string-to-string consistency. Its twin-blade construction provides even response across every string regardless of gauge or tuning, while also making the pickups particularly practical for multi-scale instruments.
The bridge pickup uses three custom-sized ceramic magnets paired with a powerful high-output wind. The result is an aggressive, immediate response with substantial low-end weight, a pronounced midrange and sharp high-end attack. Single-note riffs have considerable thickness and authority, while the controlled bass response keeps ultra-low chugs tight and defined.
The neck pickup uses a more moderate wind with an Alnico 5 magnet, providing greater dynamic headroom and a distinctive woody, bright character without becoming harsh or overly spiky. It provides a strong contrast to the bridge while retaining enough clarity and articulation for clean, ambient and driven tones.
The Halcyon set is also designed with advanced wiring in mind. Both pickups offer highly effective coil-split and parallel tones, providing additional tonal options beyond their primary high-output voices. The four-conductor configuration allows these sounds to be integrated into more complex switching systems.
The combination of extreme output, controlled low end and consistent response makes the Halcyon particularly effective for players working in low tunings who need the immediacy and authority of a high-output passive pickup while retaining the clarity required for dense modern mixes.
Modern Metal, Progressive Metal, Djent, Alternative Metal, Metalcore, Technical Metal and other modern high-gain playing styles.
7-string solid-body guitars, particularly baritone and multi-scale instruments. Designed for players working in low tunings, including F#, who require exceptional string-to-string balance, aggressive attack, tight low-end control and high output without sacrificing clarity.
