The Polymath is a versatile, mid-focused humbucker set designed by guitarist and producer Adam “Nolly” Getgood, delivering broad, characterful mids, tight and percussive low end and a highly responsive playing feel.
The bridge pickup combines chunky pick attack, vocal midrange and rich harmonic detail, giving every note definition without becoming harsh or overly aggressive. Its controlled bass response keeps complex riffs tight and articulate, while the pronounced midrange allows the guitar to remain clear and present within dense mixes.
The neck pickup delivers a deeper, woody character with excellent clarity when played clean, developing a smooth, liquid and articulate response under gain. Together, the bridge and neck pickups provide a balanced tonal range that works equally well for cleans, driven tones, lead playing and modern high-gain applications.
The Polymaths are particularly versatile when used with advanced wiring. The four-conductor configuration allows series, split-coil and parallel-coil options, with the parallel setting producing a distinctive character somewhere between a P90 and a hot Telecaster. This makes the Polymath a highly adaptable set for players who require multiple usable voices from a single guitar.
